These weapons can be picked up by item pods scattered throughout the track and each weapon has three levels which starts out at level one and will upgrade for each item pod picked up. The initial race gets the player acquainted with the controls and some aspects of the game including weapons such as rockets, sonic weapons, lightning weapons and boost power-ups. in the MRC (ModNation Racing Championship) series with his mother as a sponsor and a washed-out racer for a crew chief, meeting various interesting characters, both good and bad, through his ballooning career. The level of customization on this is deeper than any track creation game we've seen for a kart racer. Players can also change the sunlight settings. You can add trees, add sheep, and other things by "painting" them onto the ground. If you add a mountain the ground gradually builds up, and the track starts to incline to match. Point and click mountain and water creation that alters the track as the player changes the landscape. Environmental controls are also available. The tracks are fully customizable and things like the track surface can be changed much in the same way they're created, so players can decide how much of what surface to use. The thing is really fast, and the developers created a short, simple track in about 10 seconds.
Players "fly" through the map and the game paints a track behind the car. There's also track creation, done in a nearly realtime way. The style is cartoony, but there's a lot of 3D detail in the environments, character, explosions, etc.
They parts are all predefined, so it's fairly similar to how the creating stuff in LBP works, but you can make them a little more unique since they don't have to be a Sackboy. You can completely customize your racer and their vehicle. The cars are also customizable, and the developers showed off classic style convertible and a pink dune buggy.
The developers showed off a monkey character, as well as a Hellraiser-esque character. They're customizable, with mods, or full on outfit changes.
